All the students who raised their hands love animals… and eat them too. We hope the seed we have planted will help them make informed decisions. The fact that they were receptive to the information about cognitive dissonance and were ready to begin making changes in order to live their values of Ahimsa and justice was heartening.
What resonated most with them was that eating a healthy plant-based diet can also help reverse lifestyle diseases. When they learnt that, students and staff clapped together spontaneously and this made me truly happy though it also highlighted the fact that there were so many people who were suffering from lifestyle diseases in their homes. This experience with the Mauli English Trust School in Supa was very inspiring for both the students and me to take things forward.
